Our Mission

We believe in a world where everyone is welcome and free to be themselves, wherever they are or go. We dream of a city where our resources are spent on the betterment of lives instead of on the punishment, detention, or criminalization of people.

Community Guidelines

1. WE STEP UP AND STEP BACK: ONE MICROPHONE

We leave room for all to speak, no interrupting (unless point of privilege). We want to hear from everyone.

2. WE ASSUME GOOD FAITH: CALL EACH OTHER IN, NOT OUT

Speak from experience, speak for yourself, actively listen to others, and avoid defensive posture.

3. WE DON'T MAKE ASSUMPTIONS ABOUT RACE, GENDER, SEXUALITY, ABILITY, OR ANYTHING ELSE.

When in doubt, we ask. When we make mistakes, we forgive.

4. WE VALUE STORYTELLING AND RELATIONSHIP BUILDING.

However, these things do not take up our whole meetings and we are serious about getting things done.

5. WE ARE LOCALLY LED COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS

The people closest to the problems are closest to the solutions. Our power comes from the organized people as well as organized money, meaning we will invite people into leadership.

6. AND AS ALWAYS, WE BELIEVE WE WILL WIN!
